Dr. Tanner Mount

About

Dr. Mount is returning to Texas after practicing independently in South Carolina. His excitement and passion for joining a high-energy orthodontic practice that is patient-focused and strives to provide exceptional care to everyone are a perfect match with Houston Orthodontics Specialists. Dr. Mount has a strong foundation in Invisalign® and various other treatment options for our patients. Having served on multiple dental mission trips to South and Central America, Dr. Mount knows the power of a smile and is honored to be a part of the personal journey each patient takes to better their lives.

 

Love of Outdoors

Dr. Mount and his wife, Caitlyn, love being outdoors and traveling.  Since returning to the Lonestar State, they have a goal of visiting all of the state parks in Texas with their two sons, Brady and Reagan, and their rambunctious Golden Retriever, Wrigley.  Dr. Mount has a passion for sports, hiking, and skiing, which fits his desire to travel well.  As an avid traveler, he hopes to visit the Land Down Under soon.

 

Beyond the Practice

Beyond orthodontics, Dr. Mount devotes his time to his faith, family, and sports.  He has served in many different leadership roles within his church and coached lacrosse at a local middle school while attending dental school and his residency program. He and his wife intend to continue their commitments to the local school districts, youth leagues, and community in which they reside.

 

Fun Facts

Dr. Mount has been on seven mission trips and is proficient in speaking dental Spanish with his patients.  He was named an All-State midfielder playing Lacrosse during his senior year of high school. Dr. Mount does not like cheese but loves queso.

Education

Following high school in Georgetown, Texas, a suburb of Austin, Dr. Mount attended Baylor University, where he triple majored in Business Fellows, Accounting, and Biology. In May 2020, he graduated from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, where he continued his orthodontics residency until August 2022. Dr. Mount became board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics in December of 2022. While attending school, Dr. Mount was a part of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society, and completed his Master’s thesis research on the “Effect of 3D-Printed Model Material on Thermoformed Appliance Fabrication.”
